Dun Laoghaire is plagued

Sir -- Dun Laoghaire's county manager Mr Keegan forgot to mention in his recent letter that he uses circa €5m per annum of his parking fees for "general purposes" -- which in reality means paying staff salaries, their expense accounts and in the provision of parking for these well-paid officials.

That is why Dun Laoghaire is plagued with what is probably the most draconian parking regime in Western Europe.
