Dukes's attitude insults all of us

Alan Dukes is obviously enjoying his newly acquired friendships in his role as Anglo Irish chairman. His increasing ability to look down on the little people was in evidence in his statement from Anglo Irish Bank on Tuesday. Alan Dukes thanked his staff for its dedication while suffering "the strain on morale from backward looking commentary".

I am assuming that this flagrant snub to the Irish taxpayer originated from the board's disgust that the Irish people should have the impertinence to ask what happened at the bank and why they'll be paying extra taxes for years for something that is the fault of others. How dare they!

Can I suggest, Mr Dukes, that your staff are not really that dedicated; they are like the majority of people in the country who are worried about how they are going to pay the mortgage and keep the kids in food and clothes. These are not problems that Mr Dukes or Mr Aynsley will have to worry about.
