Don't let 'Killinascully' casino daydream become a reality

THERE is a touch of 'Killinascully' about the mega casino proposal for Two-Mile Borris. Not that the programme makers would ever come up with an idea as outlandish as this one.
Critics have cautioned about the ill-effects of heavy gambling and the addiction-related problems that a casino might promote, the venue's distance from the nearest airport, and the fact that we already have more than enough race courses.
The wealthy punters who the project organisers want to attract here to spin the roulette wheels will realise quickly that it's a long way to Tipperary.
