Don't let impolite spoil your day

I want to encourage Audrey Quinn to 'hang on in there'. The problems she describes are examples of a wider malaise.
There are elements within Irish society who simply do not care about others. Witness the number of drivers who block intersections after jumping a red light. Or what about those selfish people who park in spaces reserved for wheelchair users, or mother-and-child spaces? And woe betide anyone foolish enough to point out their misdemeanours.
My own bugbear is those who sail blithely past me when I hold the door open for them. But I still do it, because it's polite, and most people say 'thank you'.
