Do us a favour: call the election now
AS WE now end the year, we can truly say that 2010 was Ireland’s annus horribilis of the 21st Century.
We have had the Ryan Report, the Ryan line, sub-zero weather conditions and water shortages.
What is worse, we have been betrayed by this Government of Fianna Fail and the Greens, which has driven a stake into the heart of Ireland and its people. The Finance Minister’s main responsibility is to look after the finances of the country, and in this respect, Brian Lenihan and his predecessors have failed miserably. We hit the iceberg in September 2008 with the bank guarantee and every decision since then, and for the next number of years, can and will be traced back to that guarantee. Why, oh why?
