Sir -- Following on from the week of revelations of the final cost of the banking bailout, I expected last week's Sunday Independent (October 3) to excel itself on the matter, but true to form it led with revelations on FG leader Enda Kenny courtesy of Jody Corcoran, Brendan O'Connor and Eamon Delaney to name but a few.
Jody seems to have an obsession with the leader of the opposition -- it is scarcely a year since he wrote scathingly of Kenny and his academic qualifications and implied he would not have even gotten into that profession only for his late father (Pumped up Enda is still a man with a slow puncture, October 25, 2009). Such torrential abuse is unceasing.
I suspect that your leading on Kenny may have caused his detractors to back off, and strengthened his position. Whether this was some sort of Machiavellian plot or not on your part, I do not know. But, I suspect not, as its main purpose was, I think, a diversion from the real issues.
