The Department of Social Protection has become a dictatorship. Privileges to go on courses and schemes are handed out at the whims of senior civil servants who relish their power. People in receipt of benefits have no say any longer and must now endure a nasty department.

People's personal decisions do not seem to count any more. Decisions are being made for them in what can only be described as a bureaucracy gone mad.

Those in receipt of benefits must apply for nearly all courses through their local Intreo office and cannot apply for them any other way.
