Dempsey can't lecture shoppers

Transport Minister Noel Dempsey is part of the Government that, before and after Christmas, was berating so-called "unpatriotic" shoppers for shopping across the border in Northern Ireland.
At least those shoppers had already paid income tax on the money they were spending outside the jurisdiction.
By choosing to land the government jet in Derry Airport, rather than at a Donegal airport, Mr Dempsey -- who should be keenly aware of an airport's need for landing fees -- ensured that Derry and not Donegal would benefit from the taxpayers' money.
