Dancing around negatives of CJ's reign

WHILE I am not sure I approve of people like the comedian Vincent Keaney dancing on graves to make a point, I would like to take Robert Sullivan to task for his positive assessment of CJ Haughey (Irish Independent, September 11).

When he says that Haughey "did a lot of good things, especially for women, during his long years of public service", he is exaggerating and ignoring some of the more serious negatives.

The government of which Haughey was a member, and led for the latter part of the period, tripled the national debt between 1977 and 1982.
