Dail oligarchs

•I sincerely hope that there is no truth in the report that legislation has been passed so that government ministers can drive in the bus lanes.

I was in Russia in 1968 and one of my abiding memories is standing on the pavement while traffic was stopped to allow the limos of the political elite to progress unhindered.

Having evaded our official guide and deliberately lost ourselves in Moscow, we saw where the majority of the people in that city lived and we saw the scarcity of fresh food in the shops frequented by hard-working citizens.
