Cystic fibrosis facility overdue

YOU report on the €100m expansion of the Blackrock Clinic, Dublin, which was officially opened last week by Health Minister Mary Harney (Irish Independent, September 25).
The project brings a 42pc increase in beds, and will provide patients with a private room to improve privacy and comfort and considerably reduce the risk of infection. This is great news for all who can afford to avail of the service.
However, wouldn't it be good to read of a similar investment at St Vincent's Hospital, where a special unit has been promised for cystic fibrosis sufferers for a number of years now?
