Cut all ties with Israeli regime

Contrary to John Fitzgerald's call for the Government to support Israel (Letters, September 7), they should, in fact, be cutting all ties, diplomatic and economic, with the Israeli regime.
It is more than three months since Israel launched its murderous attack on the Mavi Marmara, killing nine human rights activists bringing humanitarian aid to Gaza. At the time, Taoiseach Brian Cowen warned of "serious consequences" for Israel if Irish citizens were harmed.
Yet they have taken no action against Israel, despite the fact that Irish citizens were kidnapped in international waters, forcibly brought to Israel and abused and assaulted by their Israeli kidnappers.
