Creative Irish will again prosper
As an Irish person that left Co Leitrim in 1973 for the sunny shores of Australia, I offer a positive view of Ireland in the midst of the current turmoil.
Living in a country such as Australia, which has large reserves of iron ore and coal, many people here marvel at how five million people can eke a living on such a small island with income generally derived from ingenuity and tourism.
Despite Ireland's political and banking scandals of recent years, it still has a well-educated people and creative talent that the rest of the world marvels at. And it was very smart to develop an attractive tax regime to bring the multinationals.
