Constitutional reforms should be priority

Given everything that is happening, it is easy to believe that politics in this State has become a quasi-criminal profession.
It is very clear that the supreme priority of our politicians (if not their only priority) is the holding of office, or to "get in and stay in" as one former Taoiseach put it.
This is because office provides the levers of power, privilege, patronage, and influence, together with the almost unfettered ability to abuse all of those things.
