Clarification on ISPCA’s policy

I WOULD like to clarify a piece in last Saturday’s paper which stated that the ISPCA would have to start putting down animals due to the crisis in terms of the volume of pets coming into our National Animal Centre in Longford and our equine centre in Mallow.
This is not the case. The ISPCA continues to work tirelessly with our affiliated societies and other welfare groups to rescue, rehabilitate and responsibly re-home all the animals that come into our care.
It is not the case that we put down healthy animals nor is this our intention in the future.
