Church must stop dictating to us

Much is being written and said in the media about the forthcoming rugby match in Limerick, and the fact that the pubs will be closed.

It is stressed that Good Friday should be a day for attending religious services. Why? Good Friday isn't even a holy day of obligation. That's how much importance the Catholic Church places on that day.

I work for the HSE and it is a normal working day. In a previous job it was also a normal working day. Lots of businesses operate normally on that day.
