Cheap shots by Arnold at county councillors
I AM a county councillor in Bruce Arnold's local area and I am pretty mad at him. On Saturday in the Irish Independent, he said that it was "difficult to work out whose interests the council has at heart".
This was because, firstly, he was disappointed that the residential road he had lived on for 40 years hadn't been designated a freeway, which would allow traffic to move much more quickly through the area.
And what has the council done instead? Calamity! It has thoughtlessly decided to put the interests of the residents of the road above those who wish to pass speedily through it -- and has provided parking on it.
