Census choice on organ donation

There are currently 600 people awaiting organ transplants in Ireland today with only an average of 80 organ donors per year. With the health of the nation deteriorating at an alarming rate, this waiting list will soon increase to numbers that we will not be able to cope with.
There is a lot of talk about it at the moment and pressure being put on the Government to make it law that everyone will be a donor unless they opt out.
With a census in 2011 I would like to see an extra page dedicated to organ donation and we can let each person decide on that day if they want to opt in or out of being a donor and then pass on that information to the Irish Organ Procurement Office.
