THE current hand-wringing at the decline of tourism in Ireland in general and Dublin in particular should come as a no surprise.

As a frequent visitor I can personally attest to its many shortcomings that begin when one boards an airplane and continues on throughout the stay, with poor service and inconvenience at every turn.

A holiday in Ireland is simply poor value for money.
