Catholicism is now being persecuted

IF any proof was needed of the assault on the Catholic Church, surely the suggestion that a law be introduced to break the confidentiality of the confessional box is proof enough.

No other religion in this country is being treated in this way. The Eucharistic Congress will be held next year in Ireland. This should be a wonderful celebration, with the possibility of the Pope attending.

How will this country look in the eyes of the world if we have on our statute books a law (which no other country has) forcing Catholic priests to break the confessional confidence.
