Capitalising on tragedy is cheap

Hardly had the tragedy of Cumbria occurred and the bodies accounted for when the "Ban It" gun brigade of Britain and Ireland was busy bleating on the various electronic media espousing its warped policies and trying to capitalise on the tragedy -- as demonstrated by John Fitzgerald of Co Kilkenny (Letters, June 4) a well-known anti-gun and field-sport campaigner.
I and the 220,000 other Irish gun-owners were as shocked by this tragedy, but we take great umbrage at being listed by the likes of Mr Fitzgerald as potential time-bombs just waiting to go off.
So tell us, Mr Fitzgerald, how will this marvellous micro-chipping work and who will pay for it?
