Cancer Society sullying its name

The Irish Cancer Society (ICS) has an ad running on local radio calling on people concerned about cancer to call their specialised nurse for advice.
The ad then goes on to tell listeners that if they are stuck in a queue they should contact the National Treatment Purchase Fund (NTPF) who will arrange consultation and treatment at a "private hospital" fully paid for by the State.
Aside from the fact that it seems convoluted to be closing public beds while paying for private ones, the ICS ought to be fully aware of the fact that many in the community are deeply sceptical about the purposes for which the NTPF was set up.
