•I am a proud Dubliner who like many grown men shed a tear or two last Sunday when the boys in blue lifted Sam McGuire for the first time in 16 years. In the lead-up to the final I heard much anger from so called 'die hard' Dublin fans because they couldn't get a ticket for Croke Park.
Many believed that they had a god-given right to be in GAA headquarters because they had spent many a rainy day in the stands at Parnell Park or that they had taken long tiresome train journeys to far corners of the country throughout the season.
They scoffed at so-called bandwagon supporters who only appeared on Hill 16 for the final. Well I would appeal to all Dublin supporters to come together on this joyous occasion.
