Blind to the stark economic reality

AS we face a Weimar Republic situation with 450,000 unemployed (nearly 100,000 more than the entire public sector), Kevin McCarthy figures that having no increase in his benchmarking is a penalty (Letters, September 6).
All he was asked to do by his employers (the people of this country) is contribute to his guaranteed pension.
For the record, Mr McCarthy, my own pension, like those of hundreds of thousands of others, has been decimated.
