Blazing Sadler's

• On April 26, 2011, the daily papers reported the passing of the Coolmore sire, the legendary Sadler's Wells.

The record of this son of Northern Dancer will never again be beaten. Champion sire in Ireland and Great Britain 14 times, as well as three times in France and once in North America, not to mention the feats of his offspring all over the world.

He produced 74 Group One and over 293 stake winners. His sons Monjeu, Gallileo, Yeats and High Chaparral, to mention but a few, are his legacy to the world racing scene. It is only right that this great Coolmore champion of champions should be honoured in a similar way to the great National Hunt horse Red Rum, by having his remains interred beside the winning post in the home of Irish flat racing at the Curragh, Co Kildare.
