IN answer to Alan Fairbrother (Letters, March 29), €7m is unlikely to be spent on alcohol in Limerick on Good Friday.
That figure is made up of an average spend of €300 per person, which includes accommodation and eating.
People attending the game who are not drinking will be far more inclined to make the return journey home to Cork, Clare, Waterford, Dublin and so on. Therefore, the average amount spent in the city will only be about €100 per person, bringing in a total of about €2.6m to the city.
