Barry violence is not forgotten

I WRITE to express the ongoing hurt and anger my family and I continue to feel, with the wounds being reopened again at the latest news of the most recently disclosed, and heinous, crimes of Gerald Barry.
Barry was responsible for my brother Colm Phelan’s violent death in Eyre Square, Galway, in July 1996 – for which he merely got a five-year sentence.
Hence, he was free to continue his rampage of crime, which included the murder of Manuela Riedo.
