Bankers living on another planet
SENIOR bankers like Richie Boucher are living on another planet. After all, Bank of Ireland is the same bank that proposed raising the retirement age to 68 to plug a €1.5bn deficit in its pension fund.
Mr Boucher's €1.5m pension boost is unjustifiable. Moreover, he would have the glory of hanging up his hat at the tender resignation age of 55. To describe the pension award as offensive is a serious understatement.
The recent prospect of increasing retirement age is slave labour in disguise to provide Boucher and his top-cat friends with comfortable lives.
