Bailout opposition will soon be gone

While the lack of urgency shown by Fianna Fail over the last three years can't be excused, I applaud Brian Lenihan for calling the bluff of the opposition parties on the vexed question of bank bailouts ('Lenihan hands Kenny €7bn bank nightmare', Irish Independent, February 10).

Both Labour and Fine Gael, along with Sinn Fein, have been demanding the immediate resignation of the Finance Minister on this very issue.

In a couple of weeks it will be all theirs. I can't wait to see the brows being mopped and the excuses offered as they are confronted by their EU/IMF masters.
