Ask Rehn to look at public pay

I have a simple idea for making the task of Olli Rehn -- the EU economics commissioner -- of sorting out Ireland's self-inflicted fiscal mess a lot easier.

Could someone please ask Mr Rehn to analyse the salary scales for Ireland's public sector and also ask that he investigate the numerous allowances the same employees get.

Imagine Mr Rehn amazement when he sees what a small, insolvent country pays its politicians, teachers, lecturers, semi-state chiefs, medical consultants, administrators, etc.
