Anyone could end up losing their home

Society must take a humane view of mortgage default.

I STRONGLY disagree with the writer (Letters, June 29) in which she had no sympathy whatsoever with mortgage defaulters.

It seems there is no sympathy for people who have lost their jobs or have seen their business fold on them.

These people are left unable to keep up their mortgage payments and end up then having to wait for their homes to be officially repossessed to go on a housing list.
