Another agency is last thing we need

I DOUBT if Emily O'Reilly's desire for a ‘Truth Commission' is on anyone's wish list. In fact, the disappearance of all commissions and advocacy groups would be our best gift for Christmas and would send the members scampering so that a poor, blind man would not have his pension reduced by €8 a week.

It is intolerable that these commissions and uncontrolled bodies continue to grow. Does no one realise the cost of these things?

On the Joe Duffy show, there was a blind man who spoke movingly about his guide dogs, whose food was in peril, and a kind pet food manufacturer came to his aid. This is the sort of practical action needed for people deserving of sympathy. Let the professional whingers and complainers be silenced by cutting off their funds.
