An apology for Mountbatten?

KEITH Nolan asks if the queen and her son, the Prince of Wales, honourary Colonel in Chief of the Parachute Regiment, will apologise for the shootings in Derry in January 1972 (Letters, June 17).

Yes Keith, I am reliably informed that their Royal Highnesses will apologise on the same day that Mr Adams and Mr McGuinness make a formal apology to the queen for the appaling murder of her uncle and to the prince for the murder of his grand uncle, Lord Mountbatten, at Mullaghmore in August 1979.
