All parties are entitled to a say

In 'Labour is to blame for Sinn Fein Victory' (Letters, December 1), Michael Scally accuses the Labour Party of playing a part in Sinn Fein's recent by-election win.
He is appalled by the fact that this additional seat for Sinn Fein gives the party the opportunity of possibly forming a technical group that would allow it equal speaking rights in Dail Eireann.
What is so wrong with that?
