Madam – Contrary to Gay Byrne's column (Sunday Independent, December 30, 2012), customers can pay for parking at Dublin Airport with cash at pay points before returning to their vehicles. At exit barriers, machines only accept Laser and credit cards as a means of payment and this is advertised as tickets are issued.
Mr Byrne's recollection that there was no "magic button" to allow him to talk to someone at the car park exit was incorrect. There is an assistance button to allow customers to talk to a staff member at every exit barrier in the car parks at Dublin Airport.
