Absent teachers . . . Grit . . . Haiti aid . . . Dodd's law

My eldest boy started in secondary school in September and since then we have counted that due to absent teachers he has missed over 30 classes.

How can it be that teachers are allowed away with this and with no sanctions? I have the utmost respect for good teachers, but not for those who are milking the system.

There must be many teachers out there willing to do the work.
