A practice that must end now

Sir -- As a public service employee for 35 years, I take issue with Marc Coleman's article (Sunday Independent, October 10, 2010). Mr Coleman blames high public sector pay as the main culprit in preventing 'our recovery'. Many public services are delivered from private properties.
The rent and leasing cost of these privately owned buildings is paid for by all income tax payers. I strongly suggest that this practice should end forthwith. After all, I had no say when a wage reduction and a pension levy was forced on me. PS: Public Accounts Committee take note.
