A lovely place

•I recently had the great privilege of visiting your beautiful country of Ireland.

I visited Glenveigh Castle and was driven all over the country to see beaches and cliffs etc. I went up North and visited the smallest church in Ireland and everything else going, including The Meat Shop in Portrush (while the girls visited the oldest licensed whiskey distillery in the world).

I was very lucky to stay with the generous Daniel and Rose McGill in Glenties, Co Donegal. What a beautiful, friendly community you have. I had a special time, learned heaps and enjoyed being part of Irish life for a little while. I am fascinated by your 'turf' -- digging up mud in the bogs and burning it in the stove to cook and keep warm. Here in Australia, we dig up a shovelful of dirt and throw it on the fire to put it out.
