A compromise over religion in schools

I am writing in response to Katherine Donnelly's article in yesterday's Irish Independent regarding religion classes in schools.
We are an Anglican family and my 10-year-old son attends a local national school which is under the patronage of the Catholic Church. He joined this school when he was starting 4th class.
While there are regular religion classes in the school I was not happy for him to be "Catholicised" as I felt he would be over time. Hence I met with his teacher and I explained my concerns to her.
