We don't buy the barstool fury as ministers dodge hard questions
During the Bertie Ahern era, members of government behaving as though they were in opposition was common place. Unfortunately, the trend has dissipated in this post-bailout epoch. Ministers were appalled at the prospect of staff at Irish Water being paid bonuses.
Joan Burton and Brian Hayes strongly indicated the Government would step in to bring that practice to a rapid halt.
Ms Burton signalled her opposition to the payment of bonuses. "I don't see any room in this country for going back to a bonus culture," she said. Clearly there is room.
