Frank McNamara and Shay Healy, who have written three winning Eurovision songs between them, have criticised the decision to enter a turkey in the competition as "absolutely disgraceful".
However, RTE has defended the decision. Bill Hughes, chairman of the RTE committee which chose the finalists, believes Dustin's song is "very funny" and has a "great melody".
The turkey's song, 'Irelande Douze Points', is sung in a thick Dublin accent, and pokes fun at everything from Bono's trousers to Riverdance.

Or is it just a reflection of the increasingly bizarre acts that adorn the Eurovision stage? Whatever your view, the chickens could come home to roost if Dustin stuffs the opposition and gobbles up an unprecedented eighth Eurovision victory for Ireland.
