Students should shift their focus
MANY of the students who took part in yesterday's street protests in Dublin are said to have been upset and ashamed at the ugly turn they took. They ought to be. The country could do without such violent images winging their way around the world at a time when mistaken or incomplete perceptions can be dangerous.
It might also be argued that the students should reconsider their priorities.
They protested against increases in college registration fees. But registration fees are a sham -- tuition fees by the back door.
