Slow down . . . and stay alive
IF one were to contrive the most adverse driving conditions imaginable, one suspects that they could hardly be worse than those that currently prevail. Local authorities have rightly commended the spirit of community that has resulted in tonnes of ice and snow being removed from footpaths all over the country.
It is the same consideration that has brought neighbourhoods closer, and has kept an eye on the elderly and isolated.
However, one has to wonder what happens to this caring impulse when some of the same people get behind the wheels of their cars.
