Sinn Féin still has a road to travel before being trusted in power

A little over a month ago, Taoiseach Enda Kenny was accusing Sinn Féin leader Gerry Adams of having information about the murder of prison officer Brian Stack, a servant of the State who was killed for doing his job.

He demanded Mr Adams make a statement to the Dáil and said the Sinn Féin leader knew more than he said he did about the death of the head prison officer at Mountjoy Prison.

"This is not fiction," Mr Kenny said. "A man was murdered in cold blood and his killer is at large . . . people know who that murderer is.''
