RTÉ director general Dee Forbes believes a doubling of the television licence fee would represent good value for money.

Those who are fed up watching repeats on RTÉ might beg to differ. The number of repeats is becoming the biggest bone of contention with viewers.

The licence-fee payer already provides a €180m subsidy to the national broadcaster.
