Retired skills have true value
A group that represents the interests of retired people has come up with the excellent suggestion that they be able to volunteer to work, using their skills and expertise for the good of the country.
The Retirement Planning Council makes the interesting point that most people retiring today are computer literate and have a flexibility of mind and attitude gained through adapting to changing technologies.
They are a resource that the Government should consider mobilising. Many of them, after all, represent the first generation of the vaunted 'knowledge society'.
