Publish letters and be damned

Two days into the presidential election campaign and it is clear that the issue of letters written by Senator David Norris in 1997 seeking clemency for his former partner after he had been convicted of the statutory rape of a 15-year-old boy will not go away.

More worryingly, the reasons he has given for not disclosing these letters seem to have changed.
