IF ever there was a death that justified the holding of a full public inquiry, the shocking and callous murder of human rights solicitor Pat Finucane is surely it.
In his review into one of the most controversial killings of the Troubles, Sir Desmond de Silva QC has confirmed that British agents facilitated the murder of Mr Finucane who was gunned down in front of his wife and children in 1989.
RUC officers proposed that Mr Finucane be killed.
