Let the law deal with Anglo Irish

THE Minister for Justice and the Garda Commissioner could hardly be unaware of the public's anger over the gross irregularities at Anglo Irish Bank. Indeed, they should share in that outrage.
However, the course of the law must follow due process. We may be living in a tattered economy, we may be short of political saviours and we may see our sovereignty being eroded by the day, but we are still a democratic republic and we have maintained our dignity.
The Garda Commissioner reminded people yesterday that the gardai are working closely with the Director of Public Prosecutions and he identified several areas of progress.
