Internet firms must help combat cyberbullying

Can we stop bullying in schools? Given some children's propensity for ganging up on their peers, the answer is probably no. Bullying is very difficult to eradicate altogether, but we can and should be doing much more to combat this scourge, both in the schoolyard and in cyber space.

The advent of social media and cyberbullying, a silent form of this traditional abuse, has brought the distressing, harmful and, in some cases, fatal practice to a new level.

It is imperative that strong measures are taken to counter it.
